In PRAIORITIZE, the focus is obviously on the Praiority list: what needs to be done to get the organization ahead. In that sense, the score, e.g., of a group of respondents or a single Question, is unimportant. Yet, scores are a handy instrument to differentiate between respondent groups or gauge the improvement over time. If a question has three answers, these answers score 0, 5, and 10 (on a scale from 0 to 10), respectively:
A question with two answers scores 0 and 10, respectively.
Four answers: 0, 3.3, 6.6, and 10.
Five answers: 0, 2.5, 5, 7.5, and 10.
Calculating a score
To get a score, you have to count. To tally. These counts translate into a single score on a scale from 0-10. Here are the ten respondents in Team 1 that answered Topic 1 in some questionnaires. E.g., five people clicked Answer A to Question1:
Let's assume that Answer A scores 0 points, Answer B scores 5 points and Answer C scores 10 points. The score for Question 1 is then (5*0 + 3*5 + 2*10)/10 respondents = 3.5. To get to the Topic score, count all the answers and calculate the score again (here: 4.2). Repeat this for the questions in all the other topics. Then, repeat for all the teams, and there is your overall score.
Adding the Red - Amber - Green (RAG)
Adding color does NOT change the scores; it just adds relief. It helps to see patterns that otherwise would go unnoticed. This Grid Map shows the topics in the columns and respondent groups in the rows. Each intersection shows how a respondent group scores on a topic. The Partners scores 5.0 out of 10 on "Objectives" and a 4.5 overall. The Red Amber Green (RAG) color coding adds perspective to the scores. It’s immediately visible that all respondents score well on "Feedback & Appreciation." And respondent "Tamara" is clearly lagging behind compared to the group.
Note that the choice of RAG values influences the perspective, not the scores. In the example below, the scores of the Grid Map left, and the Grid Map right are precisely the same! It is just the RAG filter that makes the difference. The RAG values on the left are 2.5 and 5. So, scores of or below 2.5 are red, above 5.0 are green, and everything in between is amber. The RAG values on the right are 3.3 and 6.6. So, scores of or below 3.3 are red, above 6.6 are green, and everything in between is amber. Usually, cut-off values of 3.0 and 6.0 work fine.
You can set the "cut-off values" for Red-to-Amber and Amber-to-Green in "MY QUESTIONNAIRE" > "GENERAL SETTINGS." These settings are valid for the entire Questionnaire unless you override these values for a Topic or Sub-Topic.
